Prices & market hours

Most of eUSD's collateral is stocks and ETFs, and stocks stop trading nights and weekends. eUSD keeps working around the clock: Chainlink prices every asset while markets are open, and when a feed goes quiet, a signed in-house price takes over inside a band around Chainlink's last price.

Where prices come from

SourceWhen it is usedLimits
ChainlinkPrimary source for every collateral, whenever its feed is liveRobinhood stock feeds report the token price directly
Signed in-house priceOnly after the Chainlink feed has gone quiet, which for stocks means outside market hoursMust stay within a band of the last Chainlink answer, so a compromised signer cannot move a price far, and cannot quote at all while the feed is live

Own's keeper pushes signed prices onchain outside market hours, so prices stay well inside the one-hour age limit at nights and weekends too. Anyone can verify each push: the oracle verifier emits PriceUpdated for every in-house price.

What needs a fresh price

The rule follows risk direction: actions that add risk need a price no older than an hour; exits that cannot hurt the system need none.

ActionPrice requirement
Mint eUSDFresh, at most 1 hour old
Withdraw collateral (with debt)Fresh, at most 1 hour old
Redeem eUSDFresh, at most 1 hour old
Close, paying the fee from collateralFresh, at most 1 hour old
RepayNone
Close, burning the full debtNone
Withdraw collateral (no debt)None
LiquidateLatest price, no age bound
Stake / unstake eUSDNone

A debtor can always repay and close, and an unsafe position can always be liquidated, whatever state the oracle is in.

Mint pause and disabled collateral

The operator can pause minting on one manager, and governance can disable one collateral. Both stop new risk only: deposits to new positions and minting. Repay, close, withdraw, redeem and liquidate keep working. The four managers are independent, so a pause on one group never touches the others.
