What is OwnX
OwnX is Experiments by Own: the protocol's experimental arm, where new products ship first.
Own's main product is eUSD, the stablecoin backed by stocks, ETFs and ETH. Everything else ships under the OwnX label: Curated Funds, tokenized stocks you can hold in a wallet, vaults that earn lending yield for backing them, and borrowing against them. OwnX surfaces move faster than the eUSD core and carry their own risks; the label is there so you always know which kind of product you are using.
In the app (own.money), everything under the OwnX tab is an OwnX surface.
What's in OwnX today
| Surface | What it does | Documented in |
|---|---|---|
| Curated Funds | Programmable ETFs for the onchain economy: one token for a basket picked by curators, redeemable at NAV | Curated Funds overview |
| eTokens | Tokenized stocks and ETFs (eSPY, eTSLA, eNVDA, ...) backed by a two-layer, code-governed portfolio | eTokens overview |
| Liquidity vaults | Deposit stablecoins into the overcollateralized vaults that back eTokens and earn lending yield | Liquidity vaults |
| Borrowing | Borrow stablecoins against eToken collateral without selling | Borrowing |
| Margin | Trade perps and coins with margin | In-app |
The eTokens mechanism (minting, the PSM, backing, oracles, exits) is documented in full in this section; start with the eTokens overview. The deep technical treatment is the eToken whitepaper.
